How to get in Uzbekistan

You can get to Uzbekistan by air, on train or by car. Out of 10 Uzbekistan airports, the biggest one is Tashkent International Airport located in capital city Tashkent.

By land from Kazakhstan

"Chernyaevka" is most popular border check point between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. You can pass through this border check point 24 hour a day and 7 days a week. Normally it is overcrowded and usually for citizens of third countries there is seperate line. On both sides of the border you will be met by taxi drivers offering their services to take you to the city. Normally they charge more then average so bargaining will help you save some money.

This border check point is convenient when you are aiming to reach Tashkent from Kazakhstan or if you on a reverse route it is better to use this to reach Turkestan, Shymkent or Almaty. This border check point is popular among people as Chernyaevka, however, official name of the border check point on Uzbek side is "Ghisht Koprik" while on Kazakh side it is named as Jbek Joly. Apart from this border check point there is another check point called Yallama which is around 70 km west of Tashkent.

By Air from Kazakhstan

There are direct frlight Tashkent - Almaty, Tashkent - Astana which are operated 2 - 3 times a week. The air fare is around 170-200 USD for economy class.

By land from Kyrgyzstan

Dostlik border check point between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan connects Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan with Osh Region of Kyrgyzstan This border is overcrowded as well and open 24 a day 7 days a week. On both sides of the border several taxi drivers are available in abundancy.This border is most eastern in Uzbekistan and the western for Kyrgyzstan. The nearest city in Uzbekistan is Andijan while in Kyrgyzstan it is Osh.From Andijan you can take a train to Tashkent or have sightseing of Fergana velley and in the end of trip take train from another Kokand to Tashkent.

By Air from Kyrgyzstan

By Land from Tajikistan

There are several border check points are operating nowadays most populars for travelers are those connecting Tashkent - Khujand and Samarkand - Penjikent.Border check point Samarkand - Khujand was closed for almost 10 years and it resumed recently in 2018. Both borders are open for third country citizens.

By air from Tajiksitan

There are several flights connecting two capitals Tashkent and Dushanbe. The cost of the air ticket is quite cheap as the flight time not more than 1 hour.

By land from Turkmenistan

There are several border check points between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Most used ones are those connecting Bukhara with Turkmenabad and Khiva - Kone Urgench. Both borders are open for foreigners.

There are mini vans running from one border to neutral zone and another one from start of other border till the building of border check point of another country. You should walk the distance in neutral zone which is around 2km.
