In Armenia there is the abundance of churches and religious buildings, the age of some reach 1,700 years. One of the gems - the monastery of Khor Virap (17c) is located on the outskirts of Yerevan, in place of Artashat- the ancient capital of Armenia. This monastery faces to a unique view of biblical Mount Ararat.

Other religious monuments: Churches of Garni and Zvartnots, Monastery Geghard and samples of rock architecture, the church Mashtots, Tsitsenavor and Karmravor, a complex of buildings of Echmiadzin (the place of the descent of the Only Begotten"): the main cathedral - the center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and three temples erected in honor of the martyrs Christian: St. Hripsime, St. Gayane, St. Shoghakat.

It is worthy to visit feudal castle and fortresses of Armenia which are tribal ownership of the local princes of 10-13th ages: Amberd, Metsamor, Akhtala, Smbataberd and the ruins of cathedrals of the ancient kingdom of Urartu (8th BC): Erebuni and Lshachen. Nature lovers can take a trip to Shakinskomu, Jermuk and Kasahskomu waterfalls, Lake Sevan, Aparan reservoir and the hot springs of Jermuk.

In the capital, it is worth to visit National Museum of the History of Armenia and the State Art Gallery, Museum of Manuscripts "Matenadaran" and the Erebuni museum dedicated to the era of Urartu, the Folk Museum, a museum shop of Giotto, the Museum of Genocide. Popular tour of the downtown is visiting plateau Tsitsernakaberd, Republic Square, Victory Park and a visit to Yerevan Brandy Factory. You can observe the city standing on the observation deck of the "Cascade".
