Climate of Armenia is continental: summers are hot and dry, winters, though brief, but very severe. A characteristic feature of the climate of Armenia is highly expressed by high-altitude zone with significant temperature variations. It rains mainly in the spring and early summer.
At the Ararat valley and in Yerevan, the average temperature in July is 26-28 ° C while maximum 42 ° C, in January -4 ° C. In the foothills average summer temperature is 24-26 ° C, in winter – about 5 °. Mountain areas can boast with cool summer months varying from 10 to 20 ° C depending on altitude while winters freeze decently to -14 ° C.  In general, the best time to visit Armenia is fall with its warm weather, bright colors and lots of fruit.
